Industrial Warehouse Refurbishment
Heavy-duty industrial scaffolding for a 50,000 sq ft warehouse roof replacement in Trafford Park. The scaffold had to support roofing crews, heavy materials, and a temporary roofing system across the entire building footprint.

The Challenge
The 50,000 sq ft warehouse roof was severely corroded and leaking, requiring complete replacement. The scaffold needed to support 6 tonnes of new roofing materials staged on platforms, while allowing forklift access through the building for day-to-day warehouse operations. Manchester's high winds in winter created additional structural challenges for the temporary roofing.
Our Solution
We engineered a heavy-duty independent scaffold using tube and fitting construction with double standards and heavy-duty transoms rated to 3kN/m2. The scaffold was designed in two phases — half the roof at a time — so the warehouse could remain partially operational. A temporary roofing system with monarflex sheeting was installed over each phase. Internal stair towers were integrated to avoid external footprint.
The Result
The scaffold supported 6.2 tonnes of materials with zero deflection issues. Warehouse operations continued at 70% capacity throughout the 12-week project. The temporary roofing withstood three named storms with winds up to 60mph. The client reported their most efficient warehouse refurbishment to date, completed 3 weeks under budget.
